50 Years of Literacy Action logo

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CHANGING LIVES!

On behalf of our students, staff, board, and volunteers, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support that has helped us impact the lives of three generations of low-literate adults in Atlanta.

If we seem young for our age, it might be because of how much we have changed over the years. We have grown from a small group founded in a church basement focused on developing reading and writing skills, to a multifaceted organization offering not only reading and writing but math, English as a Second Language, digital literacy, GED preparation, family literacy, and workforce preparedness for over 1,000 students a year. We couldn’t be more proud of the impact we have had for thousands of adult learners over the years – increasing their education, employability, independence, and ability to break the cycle of low literacy by helping their children and grandchildren succeed in school.

HELP US CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 50 YEARS!

Literacy Action’s classes remain free to ensure there are as few barriers as possible to adult learners’ participation. Investing in Adult Basic Education is good for the economy, and life-changing for our students! It takes the efforts of Atlanta’s communities to advocate for and change the trajectory of literacy rates in the region.

Help us continue to support individuals’ hopes and dreams and better the futures of generations to come!
