Literacy Action Students and Friends,

As you know, businesses across the State have begun to slowly reopen, and after careful consideration, discussion, and planning, we have decided to reopen using a Three-Phased approach. Phase One was the organization’s transition to 100% virtual learning and a virtual office. In the upcoming weeks, the organization will transition into Phase Two, where we will host appointment-only assessments for students. This includes limiting the number of individuals in the space at one time and reserving these appointments for students who are unable to complete assessments online.

All other services, including classes, will remain virtual until the next phase of reopening. Literacy Action will also remain closed to volunteers, visitors, and the general public until further notice.

In order to ensure the safety of students and staff, we have deep cleaned the entire office with medical grade disinfectant, and we will be following the CDC’s recommended guidelines including:

  • social distancing
  • closure of shared common areas
  • use of masks and/or face coverings
  • temperature checks prior to entering the office

A member of Literacy Action’s program team will reach out to students directly to schedule a time for an assessment. All individuals will be asked to wear a mask or facial covering, wash/sanitize your hands before coming to the office, and – most importantly – stay home if you are feeling sick.

We are closely monitoring all situations in the City, State, and Nation. The most important thing is to make sure we conduct business in a safe environment.

Students, if you have specific questions, please feel free to contact your instructor. All other questions can be sent to one of the following emails addresses:

We look forward to seeing you soon, please stay safe!
